Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has issued a stern warning following an incident involving a ballistic missile launched from Iran that entered Turkish airspace. The president emphasized that Turkey will not leave the security of its borders and airspace "to chance," especially during what he described as challenging times for the region.

Erdogan stated that Ankara is taking all necessary measures in close coordination with its NATO allies and is prepared to respond immediately if required. He confirmed that Turkey delivered a "maximum-level serious warning" to prevent any repetition of such events.

"Turkey's determination and capability to ensure the security of the country and its people are at the highest level," Erdogan asserted. He added that all required steps to protect Turkish territory and airspace would be taken without hesitation, with any hostile actions met with a response within the framework of international law.

The statement comes after Turkey's Ministry of National Defense reported that the ballistic missile, fired from Iran toward Turkish airspace, was neutralized by NATO air and missile defense systems deployed in the Eastern Mediterranean. Following the fall of missile debris on Turkish soil, officials from Ankara signaled readiness for countermeasures.

Burhanettin Duran, head of communications for the Turkish presidency, reinforced the message, stating that Turkey's resolve and capacity to safeguard the nation remain unwavering.
