Yerbolat Dosayev has been excluded from the board of directors of the national welfare fund Samruk-Kazyna. The decision follows his recent departure from a senior government position.
The fund clarified that membership on its board is linked to holding the post of deputy head of the Presidential Administration. According to a presidential decree dated March 25, 2026, Dosayev was relieved of this government role, which consequently terminated his powers as a board member at Samruk-Kazyna.
Dosayev had served as deputy head of the Presidential Administration for six months. He was appointed to the Samruk-Kazyna board in December of last year and also joined the board of directors at Baiterek National Investment Holding in January 2026.
Dosayev's extensive career in Kazakh public service and finance spans decades. A graduate of the Almaty Power Engineering Institute, he began his career in private companies before moving into high-level government and banking roles.
His notable positions include serving as Minister of Finance (2003-2004), Minister of Health (2004), Minister of National Economy (2014), Deputy Prime Minister (2017), and Chairman of the National Bank (2019-2022). Prior to his recent appointment in the Presidential Administration, he served as Akim (Mayor) of Almaty.
