Baktybek Isaiev, the former head of the Atyrau city police department, has been dismissed from the internal affairs bodies on negative grounds and placed in a temporary detention facility. The decision follows a planned service inspection conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The inspection uncovered facts of unlawful actions by the city's top police official. Based on these findings, a criminal case has been initiated, and a pre-trial investigation is currently underway.

The Ministry stated that all procedural steps, including his dismissal and detention, were carried out in accordance with established regulations. Further details regarding the case are not being disclosed in the interests of the ongoing investigation.

In its announcement, the press service emphasized that these measures are part of a principled line pursued by the Minister of Internal Affairs. This policy is aimed at ensuring legality and guaranteeing that responsibility for any violations of service discipline or law is unavoidable, regardless of an individual's position.

Baktybek Baktygalievich Isaiev is a native of Atyrau and a graduate of the Central Asian University. He began his career in law enforcement in 2003. He was appointed to lead the Atyrau police department in May 2024. Prior to this role, he held several senior positions, including serving as deputy head of the police department in the Mangystau region.
