EAEU to Create Shared Registry of Banned Online Resources

@UlysMedia
The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) member states are moving forward with a new agreement aimed at combating the illegal distribution of digital content. The document outlines measures to protect intellectual property rights and restrict access to pirated materials based on court rulings.
A key provision of the agreement is the creation of a unified electronic registry. This shared database will list information resources whose access has been legally restricted across the union's member countries.
According to Bakyt Sultanov, Minister for Economy and Financial Policy of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), all EAEU nations have completed their internal approval processes for the draft agreement. This milestone indicates the document is now ready for signing by the participating states.
The Ministry of Trade and Integration previously clarified that the scope of the agreement covers illegally distributed online content, including films, music, books, and other digital media. The ministry stated that the primary goal is to establish uniform rules for handling such content throughout the EAEU.
The draft agreement is currently in its final preparatory stages. Officials anticipate its formal coordination and adoption within the coming months.
