School Shooting in Turkey Leaves Four Dead, 20 Injured

A shooting at a middle school in the Turkish city of Kahramanmaraş has resulted in multiple casualties. Preliminary reports indicate four people were killed and twenty others wounded.
The incident occurred in the Onikişubat district. According to information, an eighth-grade student entered the school with a pistol and opened fire in two classrooms. Numerous police and ambulance teams were dispatched to the scene, and the educational institution's grounds were cordoned off.
Provincial Governor Mükremin Yünlüer identified the attacker as a student named İsa Aras. The governor stated the teenager brought the weapon to school in his backpack; it is believed to have belonged to his father, who previously worked in law enforcement.
Authorities confirmed that among the four fatalities was one teacher. Twenty people sustained injuries, with four reported to be in serious condition. Following the attack, the student perpetrator took his own life.
In response to the tragedy, Minister of Interior Mustafa Çiftçi announced the appointment of an inspector group for investigation, involving four civil and four police inspectors. Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek stated that three deputy chief public prosecutors and four prosecutors are leading the on-site investigation. A media ban on covering details of the case has been imposed to ensure objectivity.
City Prosecutor Ramazan Murat Tiryaki confirmed that investigative actions are ongoing, with all circumstances being examined. He noted that the attacker's body remains inside the school building pending arrival of forensic experts.
It is also reported that Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin and Interior Minister Çiftçi are en route to the region.
