Uzbekistan Evacuates Over 9,000 Citizens from Middle East in Five Days

@UZDaily
From March 1 to 5, Uzbekistan successfully repatriated a total of 9,361 of its citizens from several Middle Eastern nations. The operation was coordinated by the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The vast majority of those evacuated—8,114 individuals—returned from Saudi Arabia via a combination of regular and special charter flights. Additional citizens were brought home from other countries in the region: 1,192 from the United Arab Emirates, 23 from Iran, 25 from Bahrain, and 7 from Oman.
The Ministry stated that the repatriation efforts are being carried out systematically and in stages. Current operations are focused on countries whose airspace remains open to civilian aviation. The government plans to continue its work to bring citizens home as airspace opens in other nations across the region.
Officials have urged Uzbek citizens abroad to remain calm, avoid panic, and act with caution. They emphasize the importance of strictly following local regulations and relying solely on official information provided by Uzbek state bodies and diplomatic missions.
