Over 850 Kazakh Citizens Evacuated Overnight, Repatriation Efforts Continue
In a significant overnight operation, more than 850 Kazakh citizens were successfully repatriated to their homeland. The flights, conducted on the night of March 4-5, mark a continued effort to bring nationals home from abroad.
Five separate flights operated by Air Astana and FlyDubai carried a total of 851 passengers back to Kazakhstan. This brings the total number of evacuation flights since the operation began to twelve.
The repatriation mission is far from over. A series of additional flights are scheduled for March 5th, involving both Kazakh and foreign carriers. Air Astana plans to operate two routes: Jeddah–Aktau–Almaty and Jeddah–Atyrau–Almaty.
SCAT Airlines is also set to contribute with two flights on the Muscat–Almaty route. Meanwhile, Air Arabia is executing a flight from Sharjah to Almaty, with a second flight on the same route planned before the day's end.
FlyDubai will further assist by operating flights from Dubai to both Almaty and Astana, with the final passenger numbers to be determined.
Since March 3rd, these coordinated efforts have resulted in 12 completed flights from Middle Eastern countries, safely returning 2,111 passengers to Kazakhstan. Authorities estimate that with all flights planned for today, approximately 4,000 citizens will have been brought home from the region.
The work to return Kazakh citizens continues in close coordination between authorized state bodies and the involved airlines.
