Kazakhstan is undergoing a period of significant political transformation that will define its future development path. This assessment was made by Senate Speaker Maulen Ashimbayev during a meeting with residents of the North Kazakhstan Region.

"Today, our country is living through a truly historic stage in its development," stated Ashimbayev. He noted that in recent years, Kazakhstan has achieved much, forming an independent state and laying the foundations for sustainable growth.

"Currently, thanks to the initiatives of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, we are consistently developing our economy, industry, and entrepreneurship. We are paying great attention to human capital development—investing resources in science and education. In this context, the need to update our legal and institutional system becomes particularly important."

The Senate Speaker emphasized that this system must be adapted to new and future tasks, as well as to processes that will shape global development in the coming decades.

"That is why the draft of the new Constitution is primarily a response to the challenges of our time. In many ways, it is a proactive step aimed at ensuring further dynamic and sustainable development of the country amid global instability."

Focusing on key aspects of the constitutional project, Ashimbayev stressed that these changes would create a flexible state structure capable of responding promptly to contemporary challenges.

"The draft Basic Law forms a model of a strong and competent Parliament, an efficient and effective Government, and an independent and transparent judicial system. It provides for strengthening the role of political parties, developing consultative institutions, reinforcing local councils (maslikhats), and building effective interaction between central authorities and regions."

He added that all these measures create a foundation for the state's ability to make timely decisions while considering the opinions of various social and ethnic groups.

During his working trip to the region, Ashimbayev also visited several local enterprises and institutions. He met with staff at a railcar manufacturing plant and a paper products factory.

The parliamentary delegation also familiarized itself with activities at the "Magzhan Center," visited Correctional School No. 2 in Petropavlovsk city, held meetings with teaching staff, as well as with members of the Sensitive dance ensemble for hearing-impaired performers and regional boccia athletes.
