The head of a regional branch of the Republican Chamber of Private Judicial Officers in Pavlodar has been sentenced to 15 days of administrative arrest and stripped of his driver's license for seven years after being caught driving under the influence.

According to court documents, the 41-year-old official was stopped by police while driving an SUV in Pavlodar during the night of February 21. A subsequent medical examination confirmed he was in a state of moderate intoxication.

During the court hearing, the defendant fully admitted his guilt. He explained to the judge that he had consumed a large amount of kumys, a traditional fermented dairy drink, before getting behind the wheel, after which he was detained by police officers.

The court found him guilty under Part 1 of Article 608 of Kazakhstan's Administrative Code, which covers driving a vehicle while intoxicated. The sentence includes a 15-day administrative arrest. The court ruling specified that there were no legal grounds for exemption from arrest as outlined in Article 50 of the Administrative Code. The arrest term is calculated from the moment of his administrative detention at 04:45 on February 21.

In addition to the jail time, he was deprived of his right to drive any vehicles for a period of seven years.
