UAE Reportedly Conducts First Strike on Iranian Water Plant

The United Arab Emirates may have carried out its first military strike against Iran, according to reports. The alleged attack is said to have targeted an Iranian water desalination plant.
Israeli authorities reportedly assess that the strike does not signify a full-scale intervention by the UAE into the broader regional conflict. They view the Gulf state's actions as limited in scope, intended as a warning to Tehran to cease its attacks on energy infrastructure.
This development follows a recent public address by UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, his first since the escalation of hostilities in the Middle East. In his speech, he stated that the UAE is living in a state of war and thanked the nation's armed forces for their role during this period. He also praised security services and acknowledged the contributions of foreign residents in the country.
The regional tensions escalated significantly after the United States and Israel initiated a military operation against Iran on February 28. In response, Tehran launched attacks on American assets located within Washington's allied nations across the Middle East.
The UAE was among the countries struck by these retaliatory Iranian attacks. While primarily aimed at military infrastructure, civilian sites were also affected. Previous reports detailed incidents involving strikes near Dubai's iconic Burj Al Arab hotel, Iranian drones approaching the Burj Khalifa skyscraper, and projectiles falling in the Palm Jumeirah area.
