US Military Rescues Second F-15E Pilot Shot Down Over Iran

American forces have successfully rescued the second pilot of an F-15E Strike Eagle fighter-bomber that was shot down over Iran. President Donald Trump announced the operation's success on Sunday, April 5th.
In a statement posted on Truth Social, President Trump described the mission as "one of the boldest search and rescue operations in U.S. History." He confirmed that the rescued officer, a highly respected colonel, is now safe and secure.
The pilot sustained injuries during the incident but is reported to be in stable condition. Military personnel tracked his location for 24 hours while he was behind enemy lines in what Trump called the "treacherous mountains of Iran," pursued by hostile forces.
"This brave warrior was never truly alone," Trump wrote, noting that his administration and military leadership monitored the situation continuously while planning the extraction. The President stated he authorized the deployment of dozens of aircraft armed with advanced weaponry for the rescue.
According to Trump, this marks a historic military achievement: it is reportedly the first time two American pilots have been rescued separately from deep within enemy territory. The first pilot from the same aircraft was rescued earlier, though that operation was not publicly disclosed at the time to avoid compromising this second mission.
The F-15E was shot down on April 3rd. Both crew members ejected successfully. Special operations forces were deployed within Iran to conduct the search under significant air cover. No American personnel were killed or injured during either rescue operation.
Reports indicate U.S. Aircraft employed bombs and suppressive fire to push back Iranian forces from the area where the officer was located. President Trump and his team monitored the high-stakes rescue from the White House Situation Center.
