US Blockade of Iranian Ports Holds Firm in First 24 Hours
@TengriNews
The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) has reported that its naval blockade of Iranian ports remained unbreached during its first full day of enforcement. According to an official statement, no vessels successfully challenged the American-led operation.
The military command stated that the blockade is being enforced by a significant force, comprising over 10,000 US sailors, marines, and airmen. This contingent is supported by more than a dozen warships and dozens of aircraft operating in the region.
"During the initial 24-hour period, no vessel managed to break through the American blockade," CENTCOM confirmed. The command detailed that six commercial ships complied with orders from US forces, turning around and returning to an Iranian port in the Gulf of Oman.
Officials emphasized that the maritime restrictions are being applied impartially to all vessels from every nation attempting to enter or leave Iranian ports and coastal areas in the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman.
Simultaneously, US forces continue to guarantee freedom of navigation for all ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz to and from non-Iranian ports, maintaining a crucial distinction in their operations.
The American military initiated the blockade of Iran's ports and coastal regions on April 13 at 10:00 AM Eastern Time (7:00 PM Astana time). The action was taken in direct accordance with an executive order issued by US President Donald Trump.
