Voter turnout in Almaty for the constitutional referendum reached 33.43%, marking the highest participation rate in the city over the past five years, according to preliminary data. The voting process was characterized by a festive atmosphere and high civic engagement.
From 7:00 AM, 653 polling stations were operational across the city. Long queues formed at many locations shortly after opening, indicating strong public interest.

The event was transformed into a community celebration at numerous sites. Voters were greeted with music, performances, and people in national costumes and mascot outfits. Photo zones were set up, and elements like traditional "shashu" ceremonies performed by a grandmothers' choir added to the vibrant mood. Many citizens shared their experiences on social media.
Creative voters also made their mark, arriving at polling stations dressed as popular characters including Superman, Iron Man, the Joker, a penguin, and even personifications of social media platforms.

Almaty's Akim (Mayor) Dарkhan Satybaldy cast his vote, alongside employees from municipal services, industrial enterprises, construction companies, and various business sectors. The referendum also saw participation from prominent public figures, cultural icons, sports personalities, artists, musicians, actors, veterans, and honored citizens of Kazakhstan.
A notable surge in participation came from first-time voters and youth, many of whom attended with their families and emphasized the importance of civic duty.

To facilitate participation, city authorities provided free public transport on referendum day. Accessibility measures included Braille templates for visually impaired voters, adapted voting booths for people with special needs, a dedicated "Invataxi" service for those with limited mobility, and mobile ballot boxes for home voting by the elderly.
The overall voting process proceeded calmly and in an organized manner. Observers from various public associations reported no significant violations during the referendum.
